Sending Files
To send a file through
AIM, right click on the screen name of the buddy you want
to send the file to, and select the "Send
File..." option.

This will display the
"Send File" box, where you will select the file,
and enter a description for it before sending.
Click on the
"File..." button shown above if you want to send
a single file, or the "Directory..." button if
you want to select a directory of files to send to your
buddy. You will then be prompted to browse your
computer for the file or directory that you want to
send. Once you have chosen, you will be brought back
to the "Send File" box and you have the option
of writing a description of what you are sending so your
buddy knows if he wants to accept it or not. This is
optional, along with the "Show full pathname of file
to buddy" checkbox. When you are ready to send
the file click the "Send" button.
A file transfer status
box will pop up that will let you know the status of your
transfer. Once your buddy has accepted the file
transfer and you have established a connection you will
see the status of the file being transferred with the
option to regulate the speed of the transfer or cancel
it. You will be notified when the file has successfully
been transferred.
