AIM Personality

Just like people have a real life personality, and a phone personality, people also have a related but separate AIM personality.  Your AIM personality is developed through your chatting habits, buddy icon, away message usage, and your AIM profile.

Chatting Habits

Because instant messaging is primarily text based, your personality is perceived by what you type.  Here are a few tips to help you enhance and communicate your AIM personality:

Type "LOL" (laughing out loud) to let your buddy know you are laughing.  Try not to overuse "LOL" though, it's best used when you are actually laughing.  If you are laughing really hard, add a few exclamation marks for emphasis, "LOL!!!".  If your buddy says something that was kind of funny, or if you got a little chuckle, try using "Haha" or "Hehe".

Use an one of the AIM smiley faces or an emoticon to describe your mood.

Buddy Icon

Your buddy icon is a great way to describe your personality, interests or sense of humor.  The stock AIM buddy icons are generally pretty boring, try finding a unique icon in our buddy icon section.

Away Message Usage

When you are not at your computer, you can put up an away message that will be displayed to any one that instant messages you or checks your info.  People love checking what away messages other people are using, this is a great opportunity to be creative and communicate your personality.  Try not to use the same away message all the time, think of new messages for your daily activities.  For some away message ideas, check out our away message section.

AIM Profile
